Increasing depth on the team has been a major focus over the last year, particularly on the men’s side. We are excited to be bringing on three talented and enthusiastic athletes. Each coming from different backgrounds, they add versatility to the team. When discussing their addition to the roster Coach Hudson said “all three of these athletes have a lot of untapped potential and room to grow into very strong athletes. I am excited to help them get there.”

After wrapping up his collegiate career at UCONN this past spring, Dave Cotton made the move to Boulder to continue his pursuit of fast times. Clocking a 4:09 mile and 8:19 in the 3,000m, we believe Dave will develop into a very strong runner. He will add tremendously to the positive training environment and team atmosphere. With his commitment and willingness to put in the training, we expect to see good things from Dave down the road.

A former Western State All-American, Ian Butler took some time off from the sport last spring, but has since returned and made a splash in the local running scene. He took 2nd in this year’s Bolder Boulder citizen’s 10K in 31:07, an impressive time on a very difficult course at elevation. Ian had a breakout race at the 2016 Half Marathon Championships, finishing in a time of 1:05:33. We are excited to have Ian join the roster and look forward to helping him take the next step in his career.

After taking some time off of serious training to focus on her career as a sign language interpreter, Kyle Blakeslee is ready to make a comeback in the sport and has chosen Boulder, Colorado as the place to do it.  Kyle wrapped her collegiate career in 2014 at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. As a sophomore she was selected to represent the USA in the NACAC Jr. Cross Country Championships. When Kyle began to focus on the steeplechase, it was evident that she had found her event. She earned 3 All-American honors, culminating with runner-up finish at the 2014 DII National Championship and clocking a PR of 10:13. We are excited to add another talented athlete to our current roster of Hudson Elite steeplechasers.
